the melody is great, the bass is epic at the start. the build is good, the piano is a good breakup to the hook.

it sounds like an epic side scroll-er music. the break down is flawless. you have a good mind for keeping the song going.

at the end i feel it does get a little too complex, like there is too much going on, maybe a more memorable and simple hook played at the end ready for loop to start over?

FateModified responds:

Thanks, it's really encouraging to me that you think I "have a good mind for keeping the song going." When I start a song, it's usually just repetitive stuff, and so that is part of the challenge to make it interesting all the way throughout so the listener doesn't get bored. I'm glad you think I succeed in that with this song :D

Sometimes though, I can get a bit carried away with trying to keep the song interesting and I end up adding too many tracks in a section that can make it overly complex and detracting from the main melody. That's something I have to work on. I'll keep this in mind when I work on an improved version of this song. Thanks for your comments!

again, loved the earlier one and this is a clear progress from that.

i believe you are too harsh in your own analysis, it a very solid song with a professional sound and feel.

i love the progression of the drums and how it builds and drops to create tension.

the transition at around the 1:07 mark is a little abrupt, maybe a spot for vocals? or a quick burst of a reverse section of the song ready to go into that beat and back to the main hook?

its hard to find faults with it to be honest.

great job :-D

FortressLord responds:

Thank you, I'm glad you like the sound of it. I'm not sure if that's because of the higher uploaded quality or the mixing, but it's got to be a good thing. I think I will make a version with vocals one day, what the track was designed to hold was a more literal song.

that guitar definitely is epic! love the mix and fusions of both styles, you are both really talented!

the main melody can become a slight repeatitive after the 2 minute mark but it changes and really gives something fresh.

it does feel like you both compliment each other perfectly, keep up the awsumness!!

i love the intense mix of melodies and sounds. the different harmonies are beautiful and it feels like an adventure searching through the ocean for a truth he will never find.

the crescendos are perfect and mix things up that little bit to give a great variety.

great work :-)

what a mix of instruments and melodies! its sounds completely professional!

Congrats, can see this being used very easily.

FateModified responds:

Wow, thanks! I'm honored that you think it sounds so professional. I started using GarageBand a few months ago, but I really want to move on up to a more professional DAW such as FLStudio for more instruments and more control over the sound. GarageBand is awesome for beginners, but I want to do much more. Thanks for the feedback!

what an awsum driving feeling, ever being pushed on even if you dont want to, and what a drop! love it!

can see the start of something great here, maybe bring the tron(esk) style but in the faster tempo?

seriously can stop bopping my head to the ending!

FortressLord responds:

Thanks. You should like it when properly done and mastered then. And I'll be sure to expand on the potential.

I found it very beautiful, the stagered feeling of being lost of ink owning what's about to happen next. It gives a very enigmatic feel and I love it, great job:D

The moment the countdown started i knew it was going to be good.

the intro is a little rough to get through but the pay off is worth it. the intro does feel a tad bit off timing in places but i couldnt think of anything improvements than what it is at the moment.

the rest of the song is strong, fluid and relentless. the mix is professional and that beat....oh my that beat! great great stuff!

VIRTUAL REALITY! *Raves*

FortressLord responds:

WOW! Thanks a lot. 5* is more than even I would have given it now.
Couldn't agree more with the rough intro, it was actually salvaged from a track that is now gone, but there's no excuse for me not at least mastering it differently.
I'm glad you enjoyed the beat as well; Before I started casually producing and was into rock I thought I'd be a drummer, but after a few times and trying to learn beats I decided it wasn't for me.

you have such a great grasp of timings, i cant fault your songs for ever being boring, there is just too much to listen to.

1.20-ish is my favorite part, it drops and raises again with such subtle force it got me hyped up!

Great Job

FortressLord responds:

I had responded but it vanished, so thank you for the niceties and I'm glad you like the slow trance part, I worked on the mastering quite a bit there.

At Peace - the chord progression is great, the timing flows well, the strings really back the chords up alot. it feels a bit lacking in places, maybe bring the drumbeat it at the first breakdown around 40secs but have it lighter or fading in just to give a better cohesion when it comes in at the end.

Robotjazz - really funky loop, sounds very similar to daft punk, which is a good thing! interesting beat, can see it used maybe in a 'super crate boy' game.

Shepards Shuffle - An amazing start, build atmosphere and feeling but lacks at the sudden drop, really feels like it needs to drop into something bigger with a driving beat and the same synth used. a lot of potential.

FortressLord responds:

AP - Thanks for the compliments, but the drum beat suggestion is really handy. I think if I go back to the track I'll add some bells or other softer percussion leading up to the big drums.

Rj - I think I've deleted this one, but I could make something like it for the intention of classic style games.

SS - I'm still working on that one, so your ideas have been seriously taken. I have a similar lead drop in, then later on some heavier percussion and a bassy sound like the buildup that really seems to slot in with the beat.

My aim is to write video game soundtracks and themes for web comics alike. I have been playing guitar for about 13 years and have recently put my hand to electronic sounds. Here are some of the sites I am on https://www.facebook.com/sharprainmusicuk ht
