it does need some music but overall a well thought out game with intriguing puzzles

Demolacion responds:

Thank's for advice. Next game will be with sound effects and music

I dont think ive laught so hard in a while, this game is so funny! it reminds me of happy tree friends...and that soundtrack....what a soundtrack!

however i must say replayability is not its strongest point. once you've killed a few you lose interest. maybe a boss angel that has several breakable limbs before it falls?

and a combo system for consecutive kills? and the god voice shouting 'noooooo' everytime you get to a checkpoint etc? would be funny, similar to mortal kombats 'wooooopsies'

anyway i did enjoy it :-)

Thanks! Great that you got some laughs out of it. :) The game was made under a week, we just wanted to see if we could get as many (or little) views for a game that's made in a couple of days as we've gotten for games that we've spent months on. And it just happened.

Anyway, if we'll make a sequel to this, it'll have such things you suggest here. :)

Finally a game that hates me, my family, my dog and everyone i have ever had relations with. man what a hard guy but so addictive and rewarding. i guess its the same genre as 'i wanna be the guy' in terms of difficulty and fustration but my god what a good game.

simple concept works well, the animation is solid and the character is amazing and well thought out. the whole 'drawn world' theme is perfect for the story concept of a world falling apart.

love it and look forward to your future projects...oh and THE SOUNDTRACK IS AMAZING!

DEDPIXL responds:

Oh wow thanks!

First off, i love the music, its a great loop and keeps me enterained.

the game is ingenious and is a clever throwback to classic 80's games with a twist. the controls are simple but effective and the movement is fluid.

my only suggestions would be to maybe change the colours to have them one consistant for a period of time giving a since of a level or achievement. it would keep me determined to continue to beat a certain checkpoint which i feel works better than a points system. also it might help with the nausea factor of having all these flashing colours flying at you and the screen changing directions, it can be very unnerving.

maybe add some more shapes and a power up system? maybe an ability to destroy the blocks on screen or a slow down to help with more difficult areas?

some boss battles using the same concept, having a counter or opposing triangle firing shapes at you?

these are only suggestions to what i feel is a great game with an original idea.

:-)

DEDPIXL responds:

Hey thanks for taking the time to play and post your thoughts! I agree that the point system is dated and nowadays you really need some sort of progression to keep players playing. I'm glad you like the music! you can check out more of pitfall's stuff by clicking on the track in the credits and info. In truth I hate score attack games, which is why I made this one. I heard it was good practice as a designer to make a game in a genre that you hate. hahaha. Also the screen rotation was a code bug at first, I wanted to have the screen rotate around the z axis, but so screwed up and decided to go with it.

But anyway, I agree with a lot of what you said! I think I may work on a second version of the game, like a "Super Escalate" or something. I would be able to make the changes that had to be done if it was a fresh game.

amazing, simply great replay-ability love it!

sushistory responds:

love you!

i could only play a few levels, its very simple and for the life of me i thought it was going to be screamer...in fact that would of made it more interesting. the music is a redeeming feature, it pushes the game along but needs more than that one track.

the concept of the mazes randomly generating i think is awesome, and the transition of show the previous maze zooming out onto the new one is very clever. just needs expanding upon i think.

instead of a time limit an idea would to have an obsticle or enemy chasing you, that way creates tension and a motivation for escaping this maze.

cod3r responds:

Hi, did you play more than a few levels? Some of games's features are introduced only in later levels.

My aim is to write video game soundtracks and themes for web comics alike. I have been playing guitar for about 13 years and have recently put my hand to electronic sounds. Here are some of the sites I am on https://www.facebook.com/sharprainmusicuk ht
